Morgan Hirst
Morgan Hirst is a dedicated law clerk with a passion for advocating on behalf of those affected by medical negligence. She earned her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School after completing her undergraduate studies at Wayne State University, where she majored in Economics Honors, co-majored in Honors, and double minored in Business and Spanish and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Morgan’s commitment to medical malpractice law stems from her own experience as a patient who suffered the consequences of a serious misdiagnosis. This firsthand encounter with the impact of medical negligence fueled her desire to pursue a legal career and advocate for those who have been wronged by the healthcare system. She is driven by a deep sense of justice and a commitment to ensuring that individuals facing similar challenges receive the representation and justice they rightfully deserve.
During law school, Morgan honed her advocacy skills as a member of Moot Court, where she gained experience in appellate argumentation, legal writing, and oral advocacy. Her participation in competitive advocacy further strengthened her ability to analyze complex legal issues and present persuasive arguments in high-pressure settings.
Morgan also gained valuable legal experience as an intern at Nexteer Automotive, where she worked closely with the General Counsel’s office. In this role, she supported legal teams on corporate governance matters, contract negotiations, and compliance, giving her insight into the practical workings of in-house legal departments. This experience broadened her understanding of legal processes beyond the courtroom and deepened her ability to work with diverse teams to solve complex issues.
Before and during law school, Morgan worked in various roles that shaped her ability to manage a demanding schedule while maintaining a strong work ethic. As a forklift driver and night stocker at Costco, she developed a keen ability to multitask and manage time effectively, while also growing her interpersonal skills through daily interactions with members and colleagues in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, her role providing technological support at Wayne State University allowed her to bridge the gap between technical jargon and layman’s language, enhancing her communication skills. This experience provided her with the interpretive skills necessary to translate complex legal concepts for a broader audience. Furthermore, this role refined her problem-solving abilities and strengthened her understanding of technology, which fuels her interest in integrating innovative tools into the legal field to improve client services and streamline legal processes.
Fluent in both legal analysis and economic principles, Morgan brings a well-rounded perspective to her work. Her diverse background—ranging from hands-on roles in fast-paced environments to legal internships and technological problem-solving—has equipped her with strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. She is currently awaiting bar exam results and looks forward to the opportunity to represent clients independently, bringing her passion for justice and client advocacy into practice.
Outside of her legal work, Morgan enjoys immersing herself in video games, making memories with friends and family, and experiencing new cultures through travel and cuisine.
